What is resveratrol?
It is one of the most powerful antioxidants that protects our cells from oxidative stress and free radicals. Resveratrol is found in a variety of foods, such as red grapes, blackberries and blueberries, peanuts, dark chocolate, and Japanese knotweed contains the most.
Japanese knotweed is a rather invasive plant that survives even in the most impossible circumstances (in nature it can be seen along highways, gravel pits, abandoned construction sites, along rivers…) and it is the resveratrol molecule that enables the plant to survive in adverse conditions. Plants produce resveratrol to protect against bacteria, fungi, mold and other microorganisms.
Resveratrol is also one of the most studied molecules in recent times.
Which resveratrol to choose?
Due to the low bioavailability of natural resveratrol, it is quite difficult to consume enough of this active ingredient.
